I’m Jeffrey Wang. An app developer. A freshman at The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Interested in technology, design, fitness and other variety of areas.
Shortly after born in Califonia, I moved to China with my family. In 2015, I came back to the U.S. and studied at Rectory School in Pomfret, CT as an 8th grader. In 2017, I began my high school life in MA at the Governor’s Academy. Now I’m studying at the University of Illinois as a freshman. I’m pursuing a major in computer science.
Like everyone else, I started my CS career by working on machine learning algorithms—not because I enjoy adjusting parameters all day long—but because everyone was doing it. Things started to change when I made an app called Govs Connect for my high school after observing some difficulties in finding out essential information. When my product actually helps my community, and when I see their happy face saying “thank you,” I felt like all the hard work paid off. More importantly, I found out that I’m in love with building and designing things that can help people around me. Later that year, I found my personal software studio Eagersoft.io, which aimed to design productive and intuitive projects to solve real world problems.
Besides my zealousness in technology, I’m also a fitness enthusiast. In 2019, I began a weight loss journey after a hiking trip with my friends, during which I realized the importance of my health. Within the first year, I have lost 100 pounds. I will continue on this journey for the rest of my life. I enjoy running, cycling, and soccer.
Things I like: open source, material design.
Music Genre: Soul, Alternative, Mandopop.
Sports: Soccer, F1, E-sports.
